Alex
Khvatov:
What are
your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
Terrell
McClain: Height
6’2”, weight 297, 40 time 4.98.
Alex
Khvatov:
Tell me
about your East/West Shrine Game experience.
Terrell
McClain:
It was a great experience being selected to the
oldest All-Star game. It also gave me the
opportunity to meet other defensive lineman on the
east coast. I enjoyed the visit to the Children’s
Hospital, where I was able to speak to the children
and spread inspiration around.
Alex
Khvatov:
You also had
an opportunity to participate in the Senior Bowl,
how great was that particular experience?
Terrell
McClain: It
was a great experience even though I didn’t get to
showcase my skills the whole game. It was an honor
to know that my name was selected due to my athletic
skill to fill a late spot due to another player’s
unfortunate injury.
Alex
Khvatov:
What kind of
an impression do you think you made at the Scouting
Combine?
Terrell
McClain:
I made a positive and lasting impression on the
staff. I showed them that I could move quickly for
a person my size. I’m a good player/person on and
off the field, and I don’t have anything negative in
my background.
Alex
Khvatov:
Coming out
of high school, what programs showed interest in you
besides South Florida?
Terrell
McClain:
Auburn, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, North
Carolina State, South Carolina, and Illinois.
Alex
Khvatov:
How did you
wind up at South Florida?
Terrell
McClain:
I was scouted personally by Coach Jim Levitt. I
made an unofficial and official visit, and found
that the team was family based. The campus was in a
good area, and it was an upcoming program that I
wanted to be a part of to make a difference in my
freshman year. I was born in Tampa, FL, and my
grandparents live there as well.
Alex
Khvatov:
What will
you miss the most about South Florida?
Terrell
McClain:
My teammates, the new coaching staff, the general
student body on campus, and not having the
opportunity to practice on the new practice field
just opened this year on campus.
Alex
Khvatov:
Describe
your senior season to us.
Terrell
McClain:
It was a great year. I was in a leadership role. I
mentored other players on and off the field. I
really wanted to win the Big East Conference. I can
say that I played in four bowl games and won three
out of 4.
Alex
Khvatov:
How would
you rate your performance during your senior
campaign?
Terrell
McClain: I
think I performed at a high caliber in my senior
year. Knowing this would be my last collegiate
season, I gave it all I had.
Alex
Khvatov:
What is the
highlight of your football career up to this point?
Terrell
McClain:
Having a 5-0 record against the ACC teams we played
(North Carolina Tar- Heels, North Carolina State,
Miami, Florida State, and Clemson).
Alex
Khvatov:
What are
your strengths on the football field?
Terrell
McClain:
My quickness, high motor, good leverage, and ability
to block the run.
Alex
Khvatov:
What areas
of your game do you still need to improve upon?
Terrell
McClain:
Becoming a better pass rusher, and getting more
pressure on the quarterback.
Alex
Khvatov:
What is your
favorite NFL team?
Terrell
McClain:
I enjoy watching all teams compete.
Alex
Khvatov:
Who is your
favorite NFL player?
Terrell McClain: Warren
Sapp, and Michael Vick.
Alex Khvatov:
Who is the one underclassman on your team that we
should keep an eye on in the future?
Terrell
McClainMcClain:
USF linebacker Devekeyan “DeDe” Lattimore.
Alex
Khvatov:
What
separates you from all of the other players at your
position?
Terrell
McClain:
Leading others by example. Practicing hard, and
studying film to better myself. I’m fast and get
to the plays quickly. You will generally find me
around the ball.
Alex
Khvatov:
What are
your hobbies away from the football field?
Terrell
McClain:
Bowling.
Alex
Khvatov:
What do you
want to do with your life after your football career
is over?
Terrell
McClain: Coaching
athletics.
Alex
Khvatov:
Finish the
sentence, Terrell McClain is....
Terrell
McClain:
Hard working, humble, and a very respectable
person. |
