Alex Khvatov:
What are your measurements
(height, weight and forty time)?
Robbie Rouse:
5’7, I weigh 190 and I run a 4.47 forty.
Alex
Khvatov:
What schools were
interested in you when you were coming out of
high school?
Robbie Rouse:
I was recruited heavily by
Fresno
State and San Diego State which is my hometown. Then in
January, I was recruited by
Michigan and
Kansas
State.
Alex
Khvatov:
What made you choose Fresno State?
Robbie Rouse:
I went to
Fresno
State because I visited
their team camps since I was a freshman in high
school. I was able to see the facilities and
see the coaches first hand. I really liked it.
I saw that the town and the community supported
their football program. It was the main reason
why I decided to come here.
Alex
Khvatov:
Describe your junior
season to us.
Robbie Rouse:
We had an injury bug last year. Injuries played
a factor in our disappointing season. I was
kind of happy with the individual stats that I
put up, but I wasn’t satisfied with the final
score at the end of games.
Alex
Khvatov:
What are your expectations
for your senior campaign from the individual and
team standpoint?
Robbie Rouse:
We are just going to play fast at all times. We
are always going to be moving. We are going to
be fast on offense, defense and special teams.
That is how we are training and it is how we
plan to play.
Alex
Khvatov:
How tough was it to see
head coach Pat Hill get fired at the end of last
season?
Robbie Rouse:
It was tough to see him leave. He recruited
me.
Alex
Khvatov:
What can we expect from the new coaching staff?
Robbie Rouse:
I like how it is all working out with the new
coaching staff. We are putting in a new offense
with the spread. It is kind of similar to what
I ran in high school. I am just excited. I was
happy that I was able to keep my running backs’
coach with me. That is what kept me excited as
well.
Alex
Khvatov:
What are your strengths on
the football field?
Robbie Rouse:
My competitive nature. I always want to win. I
always want to win in every aspect of life. I
am quick. I am a great leader. I am a team
captain. I try to lead because I realize that
it is a team sport.
Alex
Khvatov:
What areas of your game do
you need to improve upon?
Robbie Rouse:
I just want to continue to get faster and
stronger.
Alex
Khvatov:
What are the highlights of
your football career up to this point?
Robbie Rouse:
I had 36 carries in a game against Nebraska and I was able to come out healthy
after that game. They are a Big 12 school and
they have great players. I was happy to have a
good game against them with that many carries.
I also had a 43 carry game and 286 rushing yards
against Louisiana Tech during my sophomore
year. I was hurt earlier in that year. I felt
good because I was able to bounce back and
finish strong that year.
Alex
Khvatov:
What do you enjoy most
about playing football?
Robbie Rouse:
I just love the game. I have been playing the
game since I have been six years old. I want to
keep playing this game for as long as possible.
Alex
Khvatov:
What do you like to do
away from the football field?
Robbie Rouse:
I love to play video games.
Alex
Khvatov:
What is your definition of the leader?
Robbie Rouse:
Just need to lead by example. If you want them
to do right, then you need to do right.
Alex
Khvatov:
What five words best
describe you?
Robbie Rouse:
Competitive, loving, highly-motivated, energetic
and unselfish.
