FULLBACK

1. Leonard Weaver, Philadelphia Eagles

-Versatility is his biggest asset. He’s easily the best running FB in the league and can catch the ball. Not a dominant blocker.

2. Ovie Mughelli, Atlanta Falcons

-Unheralded blocker in a run-first offense. Doesn’t post many stats, but watch his film and you’ll come away highly impressed.

3. Greg Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars

-Former RB who has overcome injuries to become a devastating blocker at FB. Can still provide punch as a runner in short yardage situations.

4. Le’Ron McClain, Baltimore Ravens

-Can move to RB in a pinch but wears down. Must keep his weight in check to remain effective. Solid blocker.

5. Lousaka Polite, Miami Dolphins

-May be the best blocking FB in the NFL. Doesn’t garner much attention, but garners plenty of respect for his play.

6. Mike Sellers, Washington Redskins

-Big, physical and mean. As tough as they come. A perfect lead blocker for Portis.

7. Madison Hedgecock, New York Giants

-Can block and catch passes effectively. Has excellent vision as a lead blocker.

8. Heath Evans, New Orleans Saints

-Not as athletic as he once was. Still an effective lead blocker. Really helps in passing game.

9. Tony Richardson, New York Jets

-Still effective at nearly 40 years old, but strictly a lead blocker now. Doesn’t offer much as a receiver or runner any longer.

10. Tony Fiammetta, Carolina Panthers

-Very promising player. Flashes devastating lead blocking ability and can carry the ball effectively on short yardage plays.

ROOKIES (WITH A CHANCE TO CRACK TOP 10)

1. John Conner, New York Jets

-Tough runner and reliable receiver. Aggressive, decisive blocker, but needs technique work.

2. Rashawn Jackson, Carolina Panthers

-Not as consistently nasty as you’d like. Superb athlete for the position and a willing blocker. Tough ball carrier.
