Alex Khvatov:  Describe your first day of practice at the Senior Bowl.

Lane Johnson:  I thought that it went well.  I played right tackle today.  I was going up against some of the best competition that there is in college football.  I think that they will move to the left side later on in the week.  First day went well.  I really enjoyed it.

Alex Khvatov:  You played QB, TE and DE during your career and now you are at tackle.  Did you finally find your natural position?

Lane Johnson:  Tackle is definitely where I belong now.  Two years ago, I would definitely say that I don’t belong there.  But I have grown into it.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Lane Johnson:  I have good athletic ability.  I am able to mirror.  I have long arms and good quickness.

Alex Khvatov:  What are you trying to improve upon during this week?

Lane Johnson:  I want to show them that I am a tough guy.  I want to show them that I can play right and left side.  I want to show them that I am a good run blocker.  I want to show them that I am technically sound.  I am not as raw as some people would expect me to be.  I want to show them that I have been working on to improve my technique.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the toughest player to block in practice today?

Lane Johnson:  Maliciah Goodman from Clemson.  He was pretty impressive with his long arms.  He has longer arms than I do.  It was a good match-up.

Alex Khvatov:  Were you happy with your weigh-in results this morning?

Lane Johnson:  I came in at 302 pounds.  I was expecting to be at about 307.  I lost some weight out here.  A lot of guys had that problem.  I will try to be at 310 pounds by the Combine.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your most memorable moment at Oklahoma?

Lane Johnson:  Probably the Big 12 Championship this year.  We played for it during my junior year against Oklahoma State, but we got beat pretty badly.  Going to TCU, we knew that we would be co-champs with a win.  We ended up taking it home.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your teammate QB Landry Jones to us.

Lane Johnson:  He is one of my good friends.  He is a very honest guy.  He is down to earth.  He has a terrific arm.  He had a couple of minor setbacks early on during his senior season.  He bounced back.  He showed that he was resilient.  He was able to lead us to a Big-12 Championship.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Lane Johnson:  I like to relax a lot.  I like to go hunting and fishing.  I like to hang out with my friends and family.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Lane Johnson is….

Lane Johnson:  I am an easy-going guy.  I get along with others.  I easily make friends.  I am honest.  I am a man of my word.  A bunch of my friends can vouch for me and say the same thing.  On the field, I try to be as good of a football player as I can.  I like what I am doing.  I work hard.
