Alex Khvatov:
Tell me about your first day of practice
at the Senior Bowl.
Kawann Short:
I think that it went pretty good. There
are some things that I can still
correct. It was the first day.
Tomorrow should be a lot better.
Alex Khvatov:
What are your strengths?
Kawann Short:
I am a run stopper, but I can pass rush
as well. Those are the two things that
you need.
Alex Khvatov:
What areas of your game are you trying
to improve upon?
Kawann Short:
I just need to be more consistent. That
is a big thing right now. That is what
I am working on.
Alex Khvatov:
What are you trying to show scouts and
coaches during this week?
Kawann Short:
They want to see me being more
consistent. That is what I have been
working on since my last bowl game. I
also want to show these guys my
stamina.
Alex Khvatov:
Describe your senior season to us.
Kawann Short:
I didn’t set any individual goals. But
as a team, we didn’t meet the
expectations that we set out for
ourselves. I would give myself a C
grade. I could have done a lot better.
I had some minor injuries, but that
shouldn’t have slowed me down. We did
go to a bowl game, but it didn’t end the
way we wanted it to.
Alex Khvatov:
What is your most memorable moment at
Purdue?
Kawann Short:
It has to be my redshirt freshman
season. I got two interceptions in one
season. It is rare for a DT. I thought
that it was pretty good.
Alex Khvatov:
Who was the toughest player that you
have faced during your career?
Kawann Short:
Wisconsin, Michigan and Notre Dame.
Those teams stood out. They were tough
to go against. Braxston Cave is pretty
good.
Alex Khvatov:
What are your hobbies?
Kawann Short:
I like to be around my family. If they
are not around, I hang out with my
friends.
Alex Khvatov:
Finish the sentence, Kawann Short is….
Kawann Short:
I am a very down to earth individual.
Off-the-field, I am easy to get along
with. On the field, it is all about the
game. It is all about being tough. I
like to show my competitive side.
