Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Jon Davidson:  I am a shade over 6’0 and 193 pounds right now.  I ran the forty last week at 4.45.  I am hoping for a 4.4 flat or a 4.3.

Alex Khvatov:  What schools showed interest in you when you were coming out of high school?

Jon Davidson:  I talked to Oregon State a little bit and Idaho State.

Alex Khvatov:  You attended Oregon State before transferring to Idaho State.  Tell me about that experience.

Jon Davidson:  I attended Oregon State for a year.  I wanted to walk on in the spring.  I didn’t play at all in the fall.  Things didn’t work out.  I transferred to Idaho State.

Alex Khvatov:  Are you happy with the decision that you made by coming to Idaho State?

Jon Davidson:  They were on academic probation at that time.  I am definitely happy with the decision.  We didn’t win as many games, but it was a good experience.  I developed as player.  I matured as a person.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your career at Idaho State.

Jon Davidson:  I came in as a receiver my freshman year.  I moved to corner my sophomore year.  I played safety during my junior year and them moved back to corner my senior year.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Jon Davidson:  My combination of size and length.  I also have speed and quickness.  I am versatile.  I can play any position in the secondary.  I have raw athleticism.  I have a high ceiling.  I am also real competitive.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

Jon Davidson:  Right now, I am working on getting my weight up to 200 pounds.  I want to show that I have the size and the physical nature to play corner and safety.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Jon Davidson:  It is probably my game against BYU my senior year.  I was guarding WR Cody Hoffman.  I played pretty well.  I got a pick.  I showed that I could compete against top tier talent.  I think that he only had one catch against me.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?

Jon Davidson:  Right now, I am working out at the school with a personal trainer at Idaho.  I am also training at the rehabilitation-training center.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Jon Davidson:  I grew up as a Detroit Lions fan.

Alex Khvatov:  Do you think that the Jim Caldwell hiring was a good move?

Jon Davidson:  I do.  He is a good fit for Matthew Stafford and that offense.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Jon Davidson:  My favorite player was Sean Taylor before he passed away.  Now it is probably Patrick Peterson.  He has great speed.  He is also a physical corner.

Alex Khvatov:  How does it feel to be a small fish in a large pond?

Jon Davidson:  I like it.  It has always been like that during my whole career.  I started playing football really late when I was 16 years old.  I slipped through the cracks.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the toughest player that you have faced during your career?

Jon Davidson:  I would probably say that it was WR Kasen Williams from Washington.  He is a big, physical receiver.  He doesn’t have top end speed, but he has wiggle to him.  It is surprising.  He is hard to tackle.  He is big and strong.  He is good with the ball in his hands.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about playing football?

Jon Davidson:  I am real competitive.  I like winning the one-on-one battles in man coverage.  It is my favorite part.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your regular training day.

Jon Davidson:  I workout six days a week.  I have Sunday off.  I usually go to the facility.  I run on the turf.  I work on my speed and agility.  I take a break and eat.  I rest and then hit the weight room in the afternoon.  I do rehab things after that.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Jon Davidson:  I like to golf.  I also like to travel.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite place that you have traveled to?

Jon Davidson:  I would say San Juan, Puerto Rico.  It was a cool experience.  My mother had some business down there.  I had a chance to practice Spanish.  My babysitter didn’t know English, so I spoke Spanish with her when I was little.  I spoke a mix of the two languages.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you plan to do with your life after your football career is over?

Jon Davidson:  I plan on getting my degree in the summer.  I want to travel for a bit.  We will see what happens.  I am getting a degree in finance.  I might want to get into real estate.  But I am pretty focused on football right now.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest lesson that you have learned in life thus far?

Jon Davidson:  Nothing lasts forever.  All good things come to an end.  I make the most of what I can.  I don’t want to have any regrets.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Jon Davidson is….

Jon Davidson:  I am a diligent and hard working young man.  I make the most of my God giving abilities.
