Alex Khvatov:  Describe your first practice at the Senior Bowl.

Jaylen Watkins:  I think that it went really well.  I covered really well today.  At first, I started off a little sluggish.  I have been out of football for a month.  But once I got through the individual period and got my feet wet, I was good to go.

Alex Khvatov:  What was it like to play at Florida with that loaded secondary?

Jaylen Watkins:  It was fun, man.  My junior year, we had Matt Elam and Josh Evans.  We had a three man rotation with Marcus (Roberson) and Loucheiz (Purifoy).  We were killing every receiver that we faced.  It was fun.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the best CB at Florida?

Jaylen Watkins:  They are all different.  If I am going against a bigger receiver, I will take Roberson or Purifoy.  If I am going against a shifty guy, I will take Vernon (Hargreaves).

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Jaylen Watkins:  I am very smart.  I play all three positions in the secondary.  I am quick.  I am long, not as long as Marcus or Loucheiz.  I measured in at 5'11 and 194 today.  I am bigger than what I ever played at.  I am also fast.

Alex Khvatov:  What are you trying to improve upon this week?

Jaylen Watkins:  I want to prove that I am one of the top corners in this draft.  I know that I can play all of these different positions.  But I am really here to play corner.  I want to increase my stock and get pretty high on some boards.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Jaylen Watkins:  It was my junior season when we went 11-2 overall.  That season was incredible.  I will always remember the LSU and the South Carolina games.  We were down by 14 points against Texas A&M and we came back to beat them.  I will never forget those things.

Alex Khvatov:  What went wrong during your senior season?

Jaylen Watkins:  We just had a lot of injuries.  We lost our QB.  He was the leader of the offense.  We lost Dominique Easley.  He was the leader of the defense.  It left us scrambling.  We were looking for some guy to step up as a leader.  It just got pretty rough.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the toughest player that you played against?

Jaylen Watkins:  Cordarrelle Patterson from Tennessee last year.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Jaylen Watkins:  I like to go fishing with my grandpa.  I play video games.  I go bowling.  I like a lot of different activities.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Jaylen Watkins is….

Jaylen Watkins:  A lockdown corner and an outgoing person.
