Alex Khvatov:  Describe your career at Wisconsin.

James White:  I didn’t know whether I was going to play or not my first year.  I came into camp and did the best that I could.  Coach gave me an opportunity to play.  I ran with it.  I competed for the starting job with Montee Ball my second year.  He won the job.  I just had to play my role with the team.  I was a little more involved in the offense during my third year.  I also played a big part on special teams.  My senior year, I got a chance to start.  I split time with Melvin Gordon.  I did all of the things that I could as a RB.  I did well in pass protection and caught the ball out of the backfield.  It was a good year.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths on the football field?

James White:  My vision and my ability to make people miss in space.  Whenever I get the one-on-one opportunity in the open field, I am able to make the guy miss.

Alex Khvatov:  What are you trying to prove to scouts during the Senior Bowl week?

James White:  I want to prove that I am an every down RB.  I can pass protect, catch the ball and run it inside and outside.  I am a complete player.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your teammate WR Jared Abbrederis.

James White:  He is a great guy.  He is one of my best friends on the team.  He is very approachable.  He is a big game player.  You can always count on him.  If you need a big play, he is there to make it.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career?

James White:  When we beat Ohio State at home my first year.  They were number one.  It was a great experience.

Alex Khvatov:  What makes RB Melvin Gordon such a special player?

James White:  He has a lot of upside to him.  He has speed and power.  He can do it all.  He is capable of catching the ball and pass protecting even though he didn’t do a lot of it.  He will showcase it this upcoming season.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell me about your first day of practice at the Senior Bowl.

James White:  I had a pretty good performance.  The guys are not used to each other yet.  We should gel with each other as the week progresses.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, James White is….

James White:  A hard worker.  I will show up and compete every day.
