Alex Khvatov:  Describe your first day of practice at the Senior Bowl.

Eric Fisher:  It was really good.  It was a huge opportunity for me.  It is a great honor to be here.  I came out of a MAC school.  I haven’t really seen top competition in the nation that much.  It is good going against them and showing that I can stick with the big guys.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your main goal here this week?

Eric Fisher:  A lot of people are talking out there.  I want to show them that their talk is true.  I want to back up the hype.  I also want to have fun out there.  I like playing football.  I want to prove to myself and to the other people that I belong here.

Alex Khvatov:  Luke Joeckel is projected to be the first tackle selected in the draft, can you overtake him?

Eric Fisher:  You are always striving to be number one.  I always want to be No.1 in everything that I do.  I just have to work hard every day.  I have a good opportunity down here to improve my game and go against really good competition.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Eric Fisher:  I consider myself to be a strong overall football player.  You can’t really concentrate on run or pass in this game.  Without one of them, you are not complete.  I take pride in being a good overall offensive lineman.

Alex Khvatov:  What are you trying to improve upon during this week?

Eric Fisher:  You don’t want to concentrate on one thing.  You want to work on overall football technique.  Every practice will get you better.  You don’t want to just concentrate on inside run and get beat in pass pro.  I just want to concentrate on the entire game.

Alex Khvatov:  How did you wind up at Central Michigan?

Eric Fisher:  I wasn’t very highly recruited out of high school.  I was a two-star recruit.  I had one other offer from Eastern Michigan.  I really liked the atmosphere and the program at Central Michigan.  I committed pretty early on and didn’t look back.  I don’t have any regrets.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell me about your senior season.

Eric Fisher:  We started off pretty rough.  We had back-to-back 3-9 seasons.  We weren’t going to do that again.  We went 6-6 during my senior year.  We won our bowl game.  We went out on top.  I thought that I had a very good year.  My play was very consistent.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Eric Fisher:  I like to be outdoors.  I like hunting and fishing.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Eric Fisher is….

Eric Fisher:  Off the football field, I try to be a very nice person.  I am a good guy.  But when it comes time to put those pads on, it is game over.  I don’t mess around.
