Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

David Hinds:  6-1, 235, 4.75.

Alex Khvatov:  What schools recruited you when you were coming out of high school?

David Hinds:  My only season of high school football was my senior season. I was recruited by FAU, FIU and Middle Tennessee.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Florida Atlantic coming out of high school?

David Hinds:  FAU was the only school there from the beginning to the end.  It was also close to my family.

Alex Khvatov:  How tough was last season for you (1-11 overall record)?

David Hinds:  As a team we didn't talk about it.  But it was very tough.  Just to see our seniors and coaches go out like that was difficult.

Alex Khvatov: Was it difficult to see coach Schnellenberger retire at the end of last season?

David Hinds:  Not really, he prepared us for his retirement.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your early impressions about the new head coach Carl Pelini?

David Hinds:  He is great.  He is laid back, works hard and works us hard.  He is trustworthy and cares about this program and is very hands on with us.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your expectations for this upcoming season from a team and individual standpoint?

David Hinds:  To take it one game at a time and win them all with effort, heart, and teamwork.  Just to become a family seeking one goal.  Individually, I want to lead by example and to win.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths on the football field?

David Hinds:  Speed and natural football instinct.  I just get downhill.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

David Hinds:  Strength and physical abilities.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your football career up to this point?

David Hinds:  My first start at FAU, my true freshman season.  I had 12 tackles, two for a loss and a sack.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

David Hinds:  Sean Taylor

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

David Hinds:  Minnesota Vikings

Alex Khvatov:  What separates you from all of the other players at your position?

David Hinds:  My work ethic on and off the field.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the greatest lesson that you have learned in life so far?

David Hinds:  Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all will be added to you.

Alex Khvatov:  What does it take to be a leader?

David Hinds:  Lead by example, stay humble and God first.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies away from the football field?

David Hinds:  I like ping-pong, bowling, pool and most of all reading my Word and sharing my faith.

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

David Hinds:  Humble, leader, disciple, humorous and caring.
