David Hinds:
6-1, 235, 4.75.

What schools recruited you when you were coming
out of high school?
David Hinds:
My only season of high school football was my
senior season. I was recruited by FAU, FIU and
Middle Tennessee.
Alex Khvatov:
Why did you choose Florida Atlantic coming out
of high school?
David Hinds:
FAU was the only school there from the beginning
to the end. It was also close to my family.
Alex Khvatov:
How tough was last season for you (1-11 overall
record)?
David Hinds:
As a team we didn't talk about it. But it was
very tough. Just to see our seniors and coaches
go out like that was difficult.
Alex Khvatov:
Was it difficult to see coach Schnellenberger
retire at the end of last season?
David Hinds:
Not really, he prepared us for his retirement.
Alex Khvatov:
What are your early impressions about the new
head coach Carl Pelini?
David Hinds:
He is great. He is laid back, works hard and
works us hard. He is trustworthy and cares
about this program and is very hands on with us.
Alex Khvatov:
What are your expectations for this upcoming
season from a team and individual standpoint?
David Hinds:
To take it one game at a time and win them all
with effort, heart, and teamwork. Just to
become a family seeking one goal. Individually,
I want to lead by example and to win.

What are your strengths on the football field?
David Hinds:
Speed and natural football instinct. I just get
downhill.
Alex Khvatov:
What areas of your game do you need to improve
upon?
David Hinds:
Strength and physical abilities.

What is the highlight of your football career up
to this point?
David Hinds:
My first start at FAU, my true freshman season.
I had 12 tackles, two for a loss and a sack.
