Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Chuck Jacobs:  I am 6’0.  I weighed in at 181 pounds today.  My arm span is at 70 inches.  They got my shuttle time at 4.06.  My cone drill is at 6.8.  They put my forty time at 4.56.

Alex Khvatov:  When you were coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Chuck Jacobs:  I didn’t have too many people that were interested in me.  They just sent me catalogues to go and see their school.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you decide to go to a junior college?

Chuck Jacobs:  I wanted to get the experience of college.  I thought if I could go to a junior college, I can experience college.  Then I could go from there to a four year school.

Alex Khvatov:  What made you choose Utah State after going to a junior college?

Chuck Jacobs:  I liked the coaching staff.  They were interested in me.  They could help me get myself better and put me in a better surrounding.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your career at Utah State.

Chuck Jacobs:  I enjoyed my first year there.  I liked the way how everything was running out there.  I like the experience and the atmosphere of being at the university.  It really made me get better.  I realized that I am capable of playing at that level.  I just wished that I went straight to a four year school instead of going to the junior college.  My experience out there was good.  I enjoyed it.  I met some great people.  They helped me get better.  When I came into my senior year, I just felt stronger.  I was really on a mission.  I wanted to show people that I am capable of doing a lot of things and being diverse.  I was able to showcase and have fun out there.

Alex Khvatov:  Utah State had a great year this past season.  The team went 11-2 and finished the season with a bowl win.  How gratifying was it to have such a successful senior season?

Chuck Jacobs:  It felt good.  It was always a dream for me to win your conference and then the bowl game.  Not a lot of teams have done that.  I went out as a winner my senior year.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?

Chuck Jacobs:  I am training at Laney community college.  I am training at the same junior college where I played.

Alex Khvatov:  Were you satisfied with your results at the Pro day?

Chuck Jacobs:  No, I was not happy at all with the way it went.  I was a little upset.  I did feel strong when I started running my routes and doing agility drills.  That is why I am planning to do a workout on April 17th at the 49ers facility.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Chuck Jacobs:  I am really good in space.  I feel that I am stronger when I have the ball in my hands in open space.  I am very swift and quick.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

Chuck Jacobs:  I would say my weight.  I need to get a little thicker.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career?

Chuck Jacobs:  One of the highlight plays is when we played against Hawaii.  We were losing pretty badly at halftime.  I caught a fade ball between a safety and a corner.  I caught the ball right between the corner’s hands.  A safety tried to tackle me, but I sprung into the endzone for the score.  It kind of united the team.  After that, we started scoring.  We came back and won the game.  There was another play against Louisiana Tech.  I caught a deep seam route up the middle.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Chuck Jacobs:  As a kid, I liked Pittsburgh.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Chuck Jacobs:  I like a ton of NFL players.  I liked Jerry Rice.  He was a classic great receiver.  Randy Moss is another guy.  I was impressed with his ability to leap over defenders.  Santonio Holmes is very diverse.  He is swift and quick.  I like Steve Smith and Desean Jackson.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Chuck Jacobs:  I am laid back.  I go to the beach where I am at right now.  I play basketball.  I am starting to pick up on the habit of reading more.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy the most about being a wide receiver?

Chuck Jacobs:  I like hearing the crowd roar.  The whole crowd drops when the ball is in the air.  I feel good knowing that I can be the person that makes the exciting and explosive play down the field.  There is no better feeling in the world.  I have the ability to run, stop, jump and then get the ball at the highest point.  That feeling makes me love being a receiver.

Alex Khvatov:  Which underclassman on your team should we keep an eye on in the future?

Chuck Jacobs:  Bruce Natson.  They call him JoJo.  He is a receiver.  He came out of Florida.  He is a little undersized, but he can make a lot of impact plays.

Alex Khvatov:  Why do you want to be an NFL player?

Chuck Jacobs:  It is my dream.  I love the game.  This is my job now.  This is something that I want to do.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Chuck Jacobs is….

Chuck Jacobs:  Explosive, impact player that can get the job done.  I can make explosive catches down the field.  I am an excellent person off the field.
