Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your daily routine right now as you prepare for the NFL Draft.

Cameron Marshall:  I get up at about seven in the morning.  I lift in the morning.  I have some breakfast.  Then I would come back at about 12 pm.  I am just working at getting in better shape right now.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you training right now?

Cameron Marshall:  I am training back in San Jose with my dad.  My dad has trained me all my life.  He trained me prior to me going to college.  I thought that he was the best person to train me.  He knows my body better than anybody else.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the coolest thing that you have gotten to do during this draft process?

Cameron Marshall:  I have been able to work with other great athletes.

Alex Khvatov:  Were you happy with your pro day results?

Cameron Marshall:  I was pretty happy with my results.  I think that I was able to show some explosiveness and athleticism.  I was happy with the results.

Alex Khvatov:  When you were coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Cameron Marshall:  Most of the Pac-12 schools.  It was actually the Pac-10 at the time.  My final four schools that I narrowed it down to were Arizona State, Northwestern, Oregon and Utah.

Alex Khvatov:  What made you choose Arizona State?

Cameron Marshall:  I felt like it was the best place where I could advance my career.  I thought that they had a good system.  I liked the coaches a lot.  I had fun on my visit.  I made genuine relationships with those guys.

Alex Khvatov:  You had your best season as a junior when you scored 18 rushing TDs which was a school record.  Describe that season to us.

Cameron Marshall:  It was a great season.  I was actually hurt for the majority of that season.  A lot of things were bugging me.  I was glad that I could fight through my injury.  I got the school record.

Alex Khvatov:  How tough was it to see your role decrease during your senior season as Todd Graham took over?

Cameron Marshall:  It was very difficult to adjust to that.  It was one of the hardest things that I ever had to do.  I was motivating my teammates while I was trying to figure out what is happening with me.  It was a great lesson to learn.  Hopefully, I don’t have to deal with something like that again.  But it was definitely a great lesson for me.

Alex Khvatov:  Arizona State had a winning record and went to a bowl game during your senior season.  How gratifying was it to finish your career on such a high note?

Cameron Marshall:  It was great to win.  My goal was to win in the beginning of the season.  It was good that we won our bowl game.  It was the best record for me while I was at Arizona State.  It was good to finally put it together and go out with a winning season.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths on the football field?

Cameron Marshall:  I run hard and aggressive.  I am a downhill runner.  I catch the ball well coming out of the backfield.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

Cameron Marshall:  I am trying to become a more diverse runner.  I want to use more agility and quickness when I carry the ball.  I want to become a more complete runner instead of being one-dimensional.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career?

Cameron Marshall:  The highlight for me was beating the University of Arizona and USC.  We haven’t beaten USC in awhile.  I also had an opportunity to play against my younger brother.  That was probably my favorite highlight.

Alex Khvatov:  Who does your younger brother play for?

Cameron Marshall:  He plays for the University of Oregon.  His name is Byron Marshall.  You can expect a lot from him.  He is going to be a great running back.  I think that he is an every down kind of back.  He is a great route runner.  He can catch the ball well.  He is very explosive and athletic.  I think that he will have a great career.  He played last year as a true freshman.  I wouldn’t be surprised if you hear his name called a lot this year as a sophomore.

Alex Khvatov:  Are you a better football player than your younger brother?

Cameron Marshall:  Of course it is me.  I can’t give my brother the edge.  He is going to have to earn his stripes and pay his dues.  I guess that I will let you guys decide who is the better football player.

Alex Khvatov:  What will you miss the most about Arizona State?

Cameron Marshall:  I will miss friends and the people that I met over there.  A lot of my friends are still on the team.  I will miss them a lot.  I enjoyed playing with them.

Alex Khvatov:  You are flying under the radar right now after a subpar senior season.  Do you have a chip on your shoulder with a lot to prove?

Cameron Marshall:  I definitely feel that I have a chip on my shoulder.  I had success as a junior, but I had a disappointing senior season statistically.  At this point, I am just looking forward to making somebody’s team and getting my opportunity there.  I want to get back to playing football.  I am using that chip on my shoulder as motivation.

Alex Khvatov:  What can we expect from you in the NFL?

Cameron Marshall:  You can expect for me to be successful.  I think that I have all of the right tools in terms of physical attributes and the work ethic.  I think that you will find me to be successful in the NFL.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy the most about playing football?

Cameron Marshall:  I love the competition of it.  You are competing and giving your best against someone else’s best.

Alex Khvatov:  Why do you want to become a professional football player?

Cameron Marshall:  It has been my dream ever since I started playing football.  Basketball was my first sport.  When I first started playing football, I knew that this is what I wanted to do with my life.  I haven’t looked back since then.  I was working on football during the summer when other guys were going on vacation.  I did this at a young age.  I wanted to become a professional player.  This is something that I wanted to do for awhile.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Cameron Marshall:  I don’t really have a team.  I was kind of cheering for the Niners since I am from the Bay Area.  But I don’t really have a team that I go for.

Alex Khvatov:  Which NFL player would you compare your game to?

Cameron Marshall:  It would probably be Rashard Mendenhall.  We run really similar.

Alex Khvatov:  Which underclassmen on your team should we keep an eye on in the future?

Cameron Marshall:  Our two running backs were great for us last year.  D.J. Foster and Marion Grice.  I think that Taylor Kelly is a guy that people should watch out for.  He had a really good record his sophomore year.  I am expecting great things from him.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your definition of a leader?

Cameron Marshall:  It is someone that can get the other guys to follow him.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Cameron Marshall:  Not too much.  I like to chill at the house.  I watch a lot of movies.  I play video games.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Cameron Marshall is….

Cameron Marshall:  I am pretty laid back on and off the field.  I am definitely the one to get the job done.  I am tough and physical.  I love to play this game.
