Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Avery Williamson:  6’1, 240 and my last forty time was a 4.7.

Alex Khvatov:  What schools showed interest in you when you were coming out of high school?

Avery Williamson:  Kentucky, Memphis and Vanderbilt offered me.  I also got looks from Tennessee and Ole Miss as well, but I had no offers from them.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?

Avery Williamson:  I chose Kentucky because it felt like home.  It is the reason why I went there.  I also knew Randall Cobb and had a close relationship with him.  I just had a good feeling about the school.  I made the right decision.  It worked out.  Coach Stoops and his staff have helped me this year.

Alex Khvatov:  What changes did your new head coach Mark Stoops bring with him this season?

Avery Williamson:  He helped me become a better all-around defensive player.  I became a lot smarter on the field.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your senior season.

Avery Williamson:  I would say that it was a growing experience.  I became a stronger person on and off the field.  I improved mentally and physically.  I became more of a leader.  Guys began to look up to me.  I am not the guy who goes with the crowd.  I stand up for what is right.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Avery Williamson:  I feel that I study the game well.  I know what to expect from an offense and from different formations.  I analyze different things.  I am an instinctive player.  I am good against the run.  I can really cover guys in man coverage.  I have improved in pass coverage.  I have become really good in that area this year.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

Avery Williamson:  I need to become as fluid as possible.  I move well, but I can always get better.  I will keep working on that.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your football career up to this point?

Avery Williamson:  I had a couple of big plays in my career.  I will always remember the hit on the QB in the Vanderbilt game this year.  I came back to my home state and played really well.  I will always remember the victory against Tennessee during my sophomore year.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Avery Williamson:  I have always loved the Ravens.  I have also become a Broncos fan since Wesley Woodyard and Danny Trevathan play for the team.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Avery Williamson:  Ray Lewis.

Alex Khvatov:  Former Wildcat linebackers Wesley Woodyard and Danny Trevathan have had success at the next level even though they were overlooked as prospects, do you think that NFL teams will look at you any differently?

Avery Williamson:  I feel that they will.  The current coaches know a lot of people in the NFL.  My name is out there.

Alex Khvatov:  What separates you from all of the other players at your position?

Avery Williamson:  I do what I say.  I am the type of guy who is a professional on and off the field.  I am a student of the game.  This is my passion.  I prepare and study throughout the week.

Alex Khvatov:  Do you think that people will always look at Kentucky as the basketball school?

Avery Williamson:  Yeah, they do.  Everyone loves the basketball team here.  But I feel like this will change with Coach Stoops in charge.  They can make it a basketball and a football school.

Alex Khvatov:  Which players on your team should we watch out for next season?

Avery Williamson:  I would say Bud Dupree.  He had a good season this year.  But he should have an even better season next year.  Another player is RB Braylon Heard who transferred from Nebraska.  He was my roommate.  I feel like he will be good.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the toughest player that you have faced during your career?

Avery Williamson:  It would be the duo of running backs at Alabama.  (Kenyan) Drake and (T.J.) Yeldon are very good.  They have the speed and the power.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about playing football?

Avery Williamson:  I love the whole game.  I love playing in front of all of those people.  Not everyone can play football at this level.  It is an accomplishment that I can play this game.  We also have a brotherhood.  I love being around my teammates.

Alex Khvatov:  Where do you plan to train for the NFL Draft?

Avery Williamson:  I will be training on campus with our strength coaches.  I start on Monday.  They know what I need to do.  I trust them.  They will get me ready.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Avery Williamson:  I like to go fishing.  It is something that my dad and I like to do.  It is relaxing to me.  I am planning to do some more fishing this upcoming year.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you plan to do with your life after your football career is over?

Avery Williamson:  I want to stay around the game whether it is coaching or something else.  It will definitely involve football.  Maybe I will become a trainer.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Avery Williamson is….

Avery Williamson:  Going to be successful because he knows the recipe for success.
