Today’s 6Pack is the top and bottom of the NFL.
Top
1) The Green Bay Packers
* Any time a team has a top five QB on their roster they have a chance. The Pack has the top Fantasy thrower in Rodgers, and several different weapons for him to get the ball to. The defense was fantastic in ’09 without their ( so called ) top H-LB Kampman. Ryan Grant is an underrated runner and the addition of 1st round pick Bulaga will do nothing but make him better. The team has done awesome in the draft the past two years, and good over the past five. With or without Favre, the Vikings will have a lot to deal with in Green Bay.
2) The Baltimore Ravens
* Another team that has killed the draft over the past several years, and Oz looks to keep it that way. Flacco is going to become a top ten to seven QB in ’10, and expect the Ravens to have a top five offense as well. The upgrades at Wr will make this one of the most dominant teams in the NFL. The defense is going to be good like it always is, but they are thin at the corner spot. So INJ’s could become a major issue for the secondary. Worst case for the Ravens in 2010…10-6
3) The San Diego Chargers
* A.J. has done a nice job drafting since he landed in San Diego. This year he picked up the best HB prospect since J-Stew, in Ryan Mathews. Offensively they have a great thrower, runner, and two elite receiving options. The defense took a big hit after losing their star NT, but they brought in Cam Thomas who will help as a rookie. Remember, at the end of the day the Bolts play in the AFC West…that’s a good thing.
Bottom
1) The Cleveland Browns
* I always thought that big Mike was a great HC, but I had major questions about him as a GM. So far, I think Mike has done a terrible job in Cleveland. Maybe the worst free agency in the NFL, and they play in the AFC North. I’m not saying they will go 0-16, but I couldn’t find a game that they should win in 2010.
2) The Buffalo Bills
* Bad move after bad move has put the Bills in a terrible spot. This years draft is a prime example. C.J. Spiller 9th overall and reaching on several other picks is not a good way to get better. They have one of the worst starting QB’s in the league, a pathetic head coach, and poor talent across the board…three wins at the most.
3) The St. Louis Rams
* Maybe the worst team over the past five years, the Rams have drafted bust after bust. But, they did a solid job in 2010. I like Bradford and some of the later round picks as well, but thy are at least three or four years away. Five wins would be a major success in ’10.
