Toree Boyd – Offensive Guard – Senior – Howard

Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Toree Boyd:  6’3, 315lbs and N/A on the 40 at the moment.  

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in

Toree Boyd:  FAU, Southern, Morgan State, FIU, USF and Howard.   

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Howard?

Toree Boyd:  After sitting out for a year after graduating high school.  Howard felt more like home with my head coach Gary Harrell being from Miami.  I was also able to have my fellow teammate from Miami Central come to Howard with me.  He played a big impact on my decision. 

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall career.

Toree Boyd:  My overall career was a success.  I started 46 games at Howard University.  I was an All-American for four years and a captain for three years.  So it’s just been a blessing. 

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Toree Boyd:  My strengths are my pass blocking, aggressiveness to finish blocks and athleticism to play all five positions.   

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Toree Boyd:  I’m trying to improve on my run blocking and sustaining blocks downfield more. 

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?

Toree Boyd:  Currently, I am training at Howard University until March when I head down to train in Florida for the pro day.  

Alex Khvatov:  How would you describe your experience at the 2017 Tropical

Toree Boyd:  My experience at the Tropical Bowl was phenomenal.  I met guys from all over that have the same dreams as me.  I got to compete against guys that play for FBS schools.  It was a great experience for me.   

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest thing that you took away from that
all-star weekend?

Toree Boyd:  The biggest thing I took away from this weekend was small schools guys can compete with those guys from the FBS level. 

Alex Khvatov:  What type of feedback did you receive from scouts at the
Tropical Bowl?

Toree Boyd:  They love my attitude and like the way I play the game of football. 

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Toree Boyd:  The highlight of my career was competing against Maryland, Rutgers, Boston College, App State, Eastern Michigan, Old Dominion, Akron and showing that I can compete with those guys.

Alex Khvatov:
  What is your favorite NFL team?

Toree Boyd:  Seattle Seahawks.   

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Toree Boyd:  John Miller, Trent Williams and Richie Incognito. 

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a OL?

Toree Boyd:  To be nasty and physical.  

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next

Toree Boyd:  Travon Hunt ( CB ), Howard Warren ( LT ), Gerald Wright ( G )  and Devin Rollins ( LB/DE ).  

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the best player that you faced during your career?

Toree Boyd:  Leonard Williams in high school who plays for the Jets now, Javon Hargrave ( SCSU ), Harold Landry ( BC ) and Rodney Gunter ( Del State ).  

Alex Khvatov:
  What do you enjoy most about football?

Toree Boyd:  I enjoy being able to compete and making my hard work pay off.   

Alex Khvatov:
  What are your hobbies?

Toree Boyd:  Playing Madden and listening to music.   

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football
career is over?

Toree Boyd:  I want to work for Homeland Security or help out the youth.   

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest life lesson that you have learned thus

Toree Boyd:  I learned to never take things for granted. 

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Toree Boyd is….

Toree Boyd:  A sleeper in the 2017 Draft.  He will show it to an organization that gives him a shot, and they will not regret it.
